Since 2016, Coleman's Kitchen has been feeding Washington DC with soul food classics, fresh seafood, and grilled favorites made from scratch. We run a food truck that travels to events across the city, a café opening in Ward 7 this July, plus full catering and meal prep services. Whether you need us at your location or want to visit ours, we bring honest cooking and farm-fresh ingredients to every plate.

Coleman's Kitchen creates jobs for DC residents others overlook—folks with disabilities, language barriers, veterans, retirees, and people with special abilities. We offer affordable kitchen space to help other food entrepreneurs grow. Our profits go right back into serving the community that feeds us. It's not just business, it's purpose.
Raised On Grandma's Cooking
Our founder's grandmother lived to 100 years and spent her life feeding people—neighbors, strangers, anyone who needed a meal. She walked the streets of H Street making sure nobody went hungry, and she never turned a single person away. That's the foundation Coleman's Kitchen is built on. Every dish we serve, every customer we welcome, carries that same spirit of care and generosity. Good food, warm hospitality, and a simple truth: everyone deserves to eat well.
Our Founder & Owner
After being laid off from a six-figure federal job, she went back to school while raising eight children and earned her BSBA, MBA, and PhD in Business Management. Despite being told she was doing too much to succeed, she built Coleman's Kitchen on lessons from her grandmother who lived to 100 and never turned anyone away. Now she feeds Ward 7 with that same spirit—proving doubters wrong and making sure nobody leaves hungry.
